When you have been injured in an accident or had your LTD (long-term disability) denied, you need someone with the experience and knowledge to assist you with your claim.
You would be shocked to learn that many people who are injured or had their LTD claim denied do no investigation of their own when selecting a lawyer.

- Do your own research. No doubt, family will want to help you, but take the time to research the lawyer online. Look to see if the lawyer has any trial experience or how long that person has been a lawyer practicing in personal injury.
- See online reviews. Generally speaking, the number of online reviews will help you to decide whether the lawyer is one who is right for you. Do keep in mind that some clients may post negative reviews as they did not receive what they think they deserved. However, if the majority of the reviews are positive, then this may be an indication that this client was a one-of and is not necessarily representative of the lawyer’s ability.
- You want a lawyer with experience. Experience matters in personal injury because experience will help to guide your claim to a successful resolution.
- See what other lawyers are saying about the lawyer you are researching. Does the lawyer have a good reputation with the community at large? Has the lawyer won any awards that are based on the reviews of other lawyers?
